Your wellbeing must be something you guard, top-up and get support with.
We are all part of a team: department, pastoral team, middle leaders, SLT etc Look out for members of your team and ask the question: are things ok?
True pastoral care needs to be felt and positively impact everyone in your community. It doesn't necessarily start with SLT, but modelling good self-care and championing the wellbeing of all staff is important.
Sleep, exercise, food, right level of motivation, stress levels...are all part of wellbeing.
We all have mental health and we should take care of it like we do our physical health
If you feel you are struggling try and talk sooner rather than later to someone you trust. There is always hope and there is always a way through - sometimes we just need someone to walk some of the road with us.
